Join the Vermont Woodlands Association for a day of learning and connection focused on caring for Vermont’s forests. The conference brings together forest landowners, foresters, loggers, and forest stewards for educational sessions, policy updates, and peer-to-peer learning that support informed stewardship decisions. CEUs available.

Newly Added: Kids Conference
We’re excited to offer a half day Kids Conference this year in partnership with Audobon Vermont! Younger participants (ages 5-13) will  a chance to explore forests through hands-on activities while parents attend conference sessions. Kids Conference registration is $10/kid, includes lunch in Judd Hall!

9:00 am        Welcome and Opening Remarks

9:15 am        Keynote Address- Paul Catanzaro, Professor & State Extension Forester, University of Massachusetts- Amherst 

10:15 am       Stewardship Breakout Sessions Breakout sessions will follow one of the following tracks. Tentative presentations are listed and are subject to change.

Track 1: Forest Health- EAB; Beech Leaf Disease

Track 2: Markets- Econmics of Logging; Paying for Your Woods

Track 3: Stewardship- Legacy Planning; VT Tree Farmer Program

Track 4: Wildlife Track- Assessing Wildlife Habitat; Amphibians in the Woods 

11:45 am      State of the Forests and Forestry Policy: State Updates

12:15 pm      Lunch and VWA Business Meeting

1:30 pm       Plenary Presentation (TBD) 

2:30 pm  Managing for Resilience: A Panel Discussion on Managing with Mutliple Goals in Mind

4:00 pm Safe Travels!

 

Registration Information 

Pre-registration is required. Please register by April 1st.

VWA Member/VT Tree Farmer- $45 per person (All household members can register as a VWA member)

Non VWA Member- $55 per person

Join VWA Today- $45 per person (Not a member? Select this ticket level and we'll be in touch with the next steps to join!)

Student- $20 per student (college and university students)

Kid's Conference Registration - $10 per kid, ages 5-13 (Kid's Conference presented by Audubon; 9am-12pm)

Children under 5 are welcome to attend for free under their parents’ care.
